Herb Grant
Herb Grant is the vice president of Program Execution for The Manufacturing Institute, the workforce development arm of the National Association of Manufacturers. In this capacity, he is challenged to help advance the Institute’s mission to address the workforce challenges of the manufacturing industry in the most effective and efficient ways possible. Included in this scope is direct oversight of the MI’s work in the areas of Veterans programs including Heroes MAKE America and Youth programs including MFG Day and Creators Wanted.
Prior to this role, Herb was VP of Operations for the MI where he worked to improve overall processes and tools used to leverage economies of scale across the organization.
Herb joined the NAM in September 2019 following an extensive career in manufacturing where he worked with GE, Hubbell and most recently ABB. His roles at ABB included global, regional, and domestic responsibilities for commercial and general management operations.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Herb also led the Creators Respond effort of the NAM engaging with more than 26 agencies, departments, and branches of the US government to maximize government & manufacturer engagement in the response, relief, and recovery efforts.
Over the years, Herb has been at the forefront of addressing and solving workforce development challenges at the business level, and now continues this leadership role at a pivotal point for manufacturers in the United States.
