Workforce, apprenticeship and education policy remained active across both the Administration and Congress in 2025. As we move into 2026, several of these efforts—including Workforce Pell and the Industry-Driven Skills Training Fund—are poised for implementation, while new workforce and education policy discussions are beginning to take shape.

The Workforce and Education Policy Committee will hold its first meeting of 2026 on February 23 at 2:00 pm ET. During the meeting, Nick Moore, Acting Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education at the U.S. Department of Education will join MI staff to provide an update on key workforce policy developments in Washington and offer an outlook on priorities for the remainder of 2026. Manufacturers are also encouraged to ask questions and share their perspective and policy goals to help inform the MI’s advocacy.
