Workforce in Focus

Get Involved

Here are this month’s opportunities to get involved with the MI’s workforce initiatives.

  • FAME 101: The FAME USA team offers bi-monthly FAME 101 information sessions that overview the FAME model of skills training, with particular emphasis on the Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program for training best-in-class multiskilled maintenance technicians. Company representatives who join will take away detailed program knowledge and an understanding of next steps to get involved in a local chapter and the steps needed to explore starting a new chapter. The next session will take place on February 13 at 12:30 pm EST.
  • Webinar on proposed regulations for Registered Apprenticeship programs: On January 17, 2024, the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration published a proposed set of new regulations for the Registered Apprenticeship system entitled “National Apprenticeship System Enhancements.” These proposed regulations would have a significant impact on all new and existing Registered Apprenticeship programs. On February 13, 2024, the MI will host a webinar to review these new regulations with manufacturers and solicit your feedback on the impact of these proposed rules. We intend to submit formal written comments on these proposed regulations on behalf of the manufacturing community, and your input on the impact of these regulations is extremely valuable. Join us on February 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm EST. Register
