Carl Walton
Carl Walton joined Panasonic Battery (Japan) in 1992 upon graduation from Brigham Young University with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a strong minor in Japanese. He spent nearly 9 years developing Primary Batteries and high-speed battery manufacturing equipment at Panasonic’s battery headquarters located in Osaka, Japan. In 2001 he relocated to Columbus, Georgia where he filled several roles in the Panasonic Battery factories located there. The roles included Manufacturing Engineer, Production Manager, Plant Manager, Director of Operations, and Sr. Director of Operations. In 2016 Carl relocated to Reno/Sparks, Nevada to support the newly being built Gigafactory. During the last 6 years at Panasonic Energy in Nevada, he has lead Engineering, Facilities, and Production teams as part of the historic ramp-up of the world’s largest Li Ion Battery factory. Carl is currently the VP for Strategic Initiatives & Facilities where he continues to play a key role in Panasonic’s mission to drive the electrification of transportation throughout the world.
