The Manufacturing Institute, in partnership with Cognizant, conducted a study to explore different approaches manufacturers take in making investment decisions with their marginal dollars. The study was conducted from June to August 2023.
As manufacturing continues to evolve, the nature of work and skills must also adapt to fit the new needs of the industry. These short and long-term changes require manufacturing leaders to weigh various factors and competing priorities to make informed investment decisions in a competitive marketplace and set themselves up for success over the long term. To do so, they must prioritize investments, making tough but important decisions about where to deploy marginal dollars.
