Katie Bowerman

Sr. Mgr. Program Initiatives, Heroes MAKE America

Katie Bowerman is the Senior Manager, Program Initiatives for the Heroes MAKE America program at The Manufacturing Institute, the workforce and education partner of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the nation’s largest industrial trade association. In her role, Katie serves as the liaison for the Manufacturing Institute and handles all facets of the 100% virtual Certified Production Technician (CPT) and virtual Certified Logistics Technician (CPT) training programs including national recruitment, enrollment, class schedules, company tours, and data management.

Before joining the Manufacturing Institute, Katie spent the last ten years of her experience working with college students and transitioning service members as they prepared for their next chapter of life after college or military service. Many of those years of experience coming from academic advising and career counseling at various universities and military installations across the country. Additionally, she supervised the Army Transition Assistance Program (TAP) for the Fort Irwin & Presidio of Monterey installations in CA and facilitated the Department of Labor Employment Workshop for both Fort Leavenworth, KS and Fort Hood, TX.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship from California State University Fullerton and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. As a proud military spouse, Katie is originally from Riverside, CA, but currently resides in the Fort Moore, GA area with her active-duty husband. Outside of work, Katie can be found spending time with her husband and 2 Labrador retrievers, cooking, or traveling.
